Originating in 1981 and performing NightClubs, Frat-Parties and just Plain Parties/Dances from Houston, Texas to Montgomery, Alabama and throughout the Gulf Coast Region "Cypress" has remained one of the most versatile Rock & Roll Dance groups in the area for the past 20 years. As most intellects know over the years Musicians seem to "Come & Go"
(ya know Sex, Drugs & Rock&Roll ! Yeah, Right !) However, there still remains three Original Core Members of the 6 piece group.
The Percussionist (Bobby Bono), Bassist (Benny Fernandez) and Sound Tech (Curt Wainright).
In 1990 the group added a New Lead Singer/rhythm guitarist (Billy Vedros) and in 2001 added the "HOTTEST" Lead Guitarist on the local scene (Steven Alexander, alias "Mr. Wizard" and formerly of "The Rebels"). In 2003, upon conclusion of Sr Rick Tassin, we added a "Jr. Keyboard Master" (Rick Tassin Jr. alias, "Rickie-T"). And in 2004, we have added our occasional Horn Section, Trumpet Player, Mr. Gary Chandler and Sax'ist Mr. Benny Latino for a full rhythm section flare, ON Occasion !!!!
